Safeguarding
Protection, truth, and appropriate action.
Safeguarding is a ministry responsibility and a governance responsibility. It requires trained people, clear boundaries, careful records, independent escalation, and cooperation with civil authorities.
Public commitments
Concerns will be taken seriously; immediate safety comes first; confidentiality is limited by protection and reporting duties; retaliation is prohibited; and senior-leader concerns must have a route beyond that leader’s control.
Contact before claims
A named Safeguarding Lead, deputy, public reporting channel, response process, and trained ministry teams must be active before public safeguarding contact is enabled.
